Field Ready Turk‎iye (Sahaya Hazir İnovasyon Derneği) is a group of engineers, humanitarian aid and development sectors experts. We have been working in NW Syria and in Türkiye since 2016 and We got our legal registration in Türkiye in February 2021 as a Social Community Organization that seeks to find innovative solutions for the communities’ challenges.

Our mission is to work within, and to empower local communities to create sustainable solutions through innovation and entrepreneurship.

As an NGO, Field Ready Turk‎iye is a part of the global movement to change, and to make what is needed, locally, by local makers, and innovators.

POSITION SUMMARY

Field Ready Türkiye is looking for a full-time Project Assistant to join an expanding program bringing innovative engineering to Northwestern Syria and in Türkiye.

Field Ready Türkiye has been active in North Western Syria since late 2016, making things that are needed locally such as fixing healthcare equipment, making hydroponics kits and search and rescue equipment – of particular note, a locally manufactured replacement for imported airbag kits has been used to rescue civilians trapped under collapsed buildings.

Field Ready Türkiye is now growing operations and starting new projects in NW Syria and Türkiye.

The project assistant is a key part of Field Ready Türkiye team, he/she will be working to assist the program/project in Turkey to conduct market needs assessments, then to be responsible directly to follow up with the program/project coordinator of the organization’s projects in NW Syria and in Türkiye.

An effective project assistant will combine excellent interpersonal skills.

The project assistant will be responsible to communicate and update the admin & liaison coordinator and the program/project coordinator in Türkiye with all the operations-related update through meetings and emails.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

The project assistant responsibilities for this task include but are not limited to:

Responsibilities:

  • Closely work with and assist the program/project coordinator in execution and monitoring of project tasks.
  • Supervise the project teams in the field when needed.
  • Contributes towards the development and scoping of projects.
  • Tracks the progress of projects using appropriate project management tools and techniques.
  • Assists in the collection, compilation and analysis of data relative to the programme.
  • Assist in the coordination and scheduling project teams meetings, as well as update and support meetings with stakeholders.
  • Assists in the coordination/ organisation of relevant training and in the provision of user support to staff.
  • Provides support in the execution of activities for and in monitoring the execution of project work plans and ensures that project activities are properly and realistically scheduled, monitored and reported.
  • Assists in the procurement of goods and services
  • Provides support in developing monitoring and evaluation reports and studies which will identify

very early, slippages and reasons for same.

  • Assists in writing reports.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Work collaboratively with the program/project coordinator and team to maximize productivity.
  • Collaborate with and support the liaison coordinator in communicating and managing meetings with the stakeholders including governmental agencies like AFAD.
  • Assist (whenever necessary) in A&E activities e.g., needs assessment and impact study. Collaborate with the whole project team, contributing to the entire project lifecycle.
  • Complete any necessary administrative tasks, such as research and email.
  • Provide regular report to program/project coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS & CHARACTERISTICS

  • A minimum requirement of an associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, preferably in Engineering, Business, or Administration studies.
  • Additional certifications that exemplify a desire for continued education preferred
  • Minimum of one-year relevant work experience in the project management.
  • Proficient in Turkish (mother language) with a satisfactory level of English proficiency
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Keen attention to detail and an aptitude for problem-solving
  • Able to proactively address potential issues and work under pressure.
  • Excellent computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Collaborative working style and team-player attitude
  • Positive and encouraging personality.
  • Able to work independently with little supervision.
  • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic
