Field Ready Türkiye (Sahaya Hazır İnovasyon Derneği) is a group of engineers, humanitarian aid, and development experts. We have been working in NW Syria and Türkiye since 2016, officially registering in Türkiye in February 2021 as a Social Community Organization. Our focus is to develop innovative solutions for community challenges. About the Engineering Technical Field Coordinator Role:

Location: NW Syria, Northern Aleppo, Azaz City
Contract Duration: 12 months

Purpose of the Position:

The Engineering Technical Field Coordinator will oversee technical activities related to repairing, restoring, and innovating medical device solutions in health facilities across NW Syria. This includes using both digital and traditional tools to create spare parts, and finding innovative recycling and upcycling solutions for broken medical equipment. The Coordinator will also collaborate with local health staff and stakeholders to build capacity, ensure sustainability, and support the development of e-waste management practices.

Key Responsibilities:

– Medical Device Repair & Innovation:

Repair and restore non-functional medical devices using traditional and innovative methods.

Manufacture spare parts using digital tools (e.g., 3D printers, laser cutters) and traditional tools.

Develop recycling and upcycling methods for broken medical devices, contributing to e-waste reduction.

Collaborate with the E-Waste Innovation Lab to implement innovative healthcare solutions.

– Capacity Building & Collaboration:

Conduct training for local health workers on medical device maintenance and repair.

Engage with local manufacturers and stakeholders in e-waste repurposing activities.

Provide technical guidance to ensure that health facilities maintain and utilize repaired devices effectively.

– Project Management & Reporting:

Maintain detailed records of device repairs, spare parts produced, and upcycling/recycling efforts.

Provide regular updates and reports to the Project Manager, outlining challenges and solutions.

Contribute to documentation of best practices for future replication and scaling.

– Coordination & Communication:

Collaborate with local stakeholders, health facility staff, and the Field Ready Türkiye team to ensure successful project implementation.

Foster strong relationships with local partners to promote sustainable healthcare solutions.

Coordinate with the Project Manager to align activities with project goals and timelines.

– Sustainability & Innovation:

Support the development of sustainable, long-term solutions for medical device maintenance and repair.

Integrate innovative practices into repairs, focusing on cost-effective, locally sourced resources.

– Confidentiality Agreement:

The Engineering Technical Field Coordinator must maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding Field Ready Türkiye’s operations, strategies, and data, especially related to donor information, internal procedures, and stakeholder relationships.

Information encountered or accessed during the term of employment is to be considered confidential and must not be shared with any third party without express consent from the Director.

Working Conditions:

The role is based in Northern Aleppo (Azaz City), with frequent visits to local health facilities as required in NW Syria.

Fieldwork conditions may include challenging environments, requiring adaptability and resilience.

Flexibility in working hours may be necessary based on project needs and emergencies.

QUALIFICATIONS & CHARACTERISTICS:

We are looking for a highly skilled and innovative individual to contribute to our mission of improving healthcare through sustainable practices in NW Syria.

Essential Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Alternatively, a diploma from a high institute in a technical field relevant to medical device repair.

Experience: Minimum of 4 years working in medical device repair, with a focus on creating spare parts using both digital and traditional tools. At least 3 years of experience working with NGOs in NW Syria.

Technical Skills: Expertise in innovative recycling and upcycling solutions for broken devices and e-waste.

Communication & Administration: Excellent communication and administration skills for coordinating with health staff, local stakeholders, and project partners.

Language Proficiency: Fluent in English (both written and spoken). Arabic proficiency is an asset.

Problem-Solving: Ability to think innovatively and provide practical solutions in resource-constrained environments.

Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
